Dear Colleagues:
I am pleased to extend my warmest welcome to everyone attending the 2012 WTCA Asia-Pacific Regional Meeting in Beijing.
This year's meeting constitutes a milestone in terms of attendance for any WTCA Asia-Pacific Regional Meeting in recent memory. The record participation at this year's meeting is a true testament to the commitment of our hosts -- the China World Trade Center and the World Trade Center Beijing -- who have worked closely with WTCA Headquarters staff to ensure a timely and successful program for all. It also speaks volumes for the dynamic economic growth we are witnessing in China and throughout Asia, not to mention the strengthening of our World Trade Center network around the world.
We are experiencing considerable growth throughout the Asia-Pacific region in terms of new World Trade Centers. As evidence of this, we have many delegates from new World Trade Centers from across Asia who are joining us for the very first time. To each of you, I would like to convey my most sincere appreciation for your confidence in our trusted brand and we look forward to working with you to carry forward the Association's rich tradition of forging prosperity through trade. For those long standing members of our Association and to friends and colleagues who I have been fortunate to know and work with over the years, I would like to extend a special greeting to each of you and to thank you for your commitment to the WTCA and for making us one of the world's most dynamic resources for international trade and investment in today's competitive world.
The agenda for this year's regional meeting has been carefully prepared by our hosts here in Beijing in cooperation with WTCA Headquarters staff and reflects many of the important topics that are fundamental to operating successful World Trade Centers in our respective cities. I hope this occasion will provide each participant with an opportunity to make the most of this meeting, to strengthen ties with your colleagues throughout our network, and to enjoy the cultural and historic richness that represents the great city of Beijing.
I would like to once again express my sincere appreciation to our hosts at the China World Trade Center and World Trade Center Beijing and to everyone who contributed to make this year's event a success.
